Biography

I graduated from the Universidad del Valle de México (UVM) in Mexico City with a degree in Systems Engineering and have been building my career as a Project Manager for nearly 20 years.
Throughout this time, I’ve had the opportunity to lead international projects with diverse, professional teams, experiences that have provided me with invaluable learning and growth.

In addition to my degree, I am committed to continuous learning and professional development. I hold certifications in Data Analysis, Agile Methodologies, Project Management, Office Administration, and more.

Currently, I am working toward earning my international Project Management Professional (PMP) certification. I am a native Spanish speaker, fluent in English, and currently learning French and Arabic.

I am actively engaged in UBC and off campus events, initiatives, and workshops, particularly in areas related to wellbeing, administrative strategies, Equity, Diversity, and Inclusion (EDI), Indigenous engagement, Human Rights, Anti-Racism and more.

Responsibilities

As the first point of contact at the School of Social Work, I act as a key resource for faculty, staff, students, and external visitors. I provide administrative support to the School’s leadership, including coordinating meetings, preparing documentation, and ensuring timely follow-up on action items.

A central part of my role involves financial and human resources administration. I manage invoices, payments, and related transactions while ensuring alignment with UBC Finance policies and procedures.

My responsibilities also include communications and event coordination. I assist with planning and logistics, as well as maintaining internal communications tools and supporting school-wide initiatives.

I work closely with various departments and internal systems to support the day-to-day operations of the School.

I take pride in being adaptable, detail-oriented, and collaborative contributing to a positive and efficient administrative environment at the School of Social Work.
